This year, the competition was title supported by North American Fur Association (NAFA). NAFA is one of the most famous professional organizations in world-wide fur industry. Its mission is to promote and develop the international fur fashion design and marketing. China plays a significant role in fur machining and marketing and this phenomenon is developing in a high frequency, as a result of more communication cooperation with international fur industry. Consequently this optimistic process provides an effective contribution to fur fashion design in China. With the support of NAFA according to the China International Youth Fur Fashion Design Competition, a more efficient connection between China fur fashion and international fur fashion is established. Chinese designers might gain more experience from world-wide communication. Meanwhile, all the fur materials were supported by NAFA, and the top three winners are going to Toronto, Canada in June 2010 and visit the fur auction and the design studio.
The judge group of this competition is constituted by the professionals not only in fur industry, but also in international fashion. They are: Mr. Wang Ye, General Secretary of China Fur & Leather Products Fair; Ms. Diane Benedetti, Director of International Affairs, North American Fur Association; Ms. Lu Yue, Famous Designer; Ms. Qian Dan Dan, Famous Fashion Media Producer; Mr. Stefano Micillo, President of Micillo Italia; Mr. Y.J.Lim, President of South Korea Jin Dao; Mr. Tony Metaxas, International Fashion Photographer.
The theme of this competition is “Dawn of A New Decade”, it means the year of 2010 is a beginning of a new decade, with a new force of fashion design. More and more fur fashion young designers will enter China fur industry and improve related development in China as well as all over the world. All the candidates and their design garments were judged in an open and equal standard. According to different levels of fashion, unique and practically factors of these fur garments, as well as color, making techniques and artistic value, the final assessment was held in 11th of January, 2010. On the night of 12th January 2010, there was the awards ceremony. Ms. Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada; Ms. Diane Benedetti, Director of International Affairs, North American Fur Association gave awards for the top three fur fashion designers. Moreover, the organizing committee of the competition gave awards to NAFA for the Bole awards and to Beijing Yuanlong Fur & Leather Co., Ltd., Huasi Agricultural Development CO., Ltd., Yinshan Fur & Leather Co., Ltd., and Micillo Italia for the special contribution award. China International Youth Fur Fashion Design Competition is moving towards a bright future by significant contributions made by these brilliant organizations and companies.
Finally the top three awards were given to “Tunnels” designed by Miss Zhao Jie, from Art & Design Institute, Beijing University of Technology; "Confusion” designed by Miss Song Xiaoyuan, from Art & Design Institute, Beijing University of Technology; and "Travelling Heart” designed by Miss Su Xiaoli, from Central Academy of Fine Arts. Their design works will be sent to participate in the IFTF International Design Competition, on behalf of China youth fur fashion designers.
"Dawn of A New Decade” is a beginning of a new time and new fashion design force. With a hopeful observation to these Chinese candidates, we are looking forwards their brilliant performance in 2010 IFTF International Design Competition!
